Enormous challenges
he water sector faces enormous challenges: growing demand for clean drinking water, stricter environmental regulations and the need to use energy and raw materials more sustainably. For a mechanical engineer, this means a field of work full of innovation and social impact.
It is an exciting challenge to which two of our mechanical engineers are contributing through projects at ADS Groep Water. These projects focus on sustainable and circular solutions in modular construction for water and treatment plants. Solutions that contribute to clean, safe, efficient and sustainable water use.
ADS Groep Water is a partner for water boards, drinking water companies and industrial wastewater processors. They realise mono- and multidisciplinary and integrated projects in the field of water treatment and also take care of management and maintenance.
What makes engineering in the water sector special?
It requires more than just technical insight. It is a combination of knowledge in the field of mechanical engineering installations and knowledge of interfaces with other disciplines such as E/PA, architecture and civil engineering. Important skills of our engineers include experience with 3D CAD (Inventor, Tekla Structures and Plant 3D), knowledge of standards and safety, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Engineers in action
Carel and Divan, both of whom have been working at Engineero for over two years, are working on projects at ADS Groep Water. Carel has been working in the Engineering Department at ADS Groep Water for several months and is able to directly apply the knowledge he previously gained in this sector. In addition to his work, Carel is in the final phase of his studies, a master's degree in engineering management. 'I am very happy that Engineero is offering me this opportunity to combine working and learning.'
Divan is now working on his second project at ADS Groep Water. Before that, he worked on a project for a client active in the automotive industry. 'I really enjoy the variety of projects at Engineero. It allows you to gain insight into many different types of companies and broaden your knowledge.'
At ADS Group, the design is created right next to the production halls of ADS Toelevering Water. This ensures short lines of communication and makes it possible to create smarter and more efficient designs and make quick adjustments.
Collaborating and sharing knowledge
Engineero's mechanical team consists of six mid-level and senior engineers. Although they work on different projects and locations, they regularly meet up to discuss professional matters. “As well as being enjoyable, it helps to apply colleagues” insights and experiences to your own work. That definitely adds value.'
