As-built drawings as the end goal

The work included modifying piping, correcting instrumentation, and adding correct numbering to components. These differences were accurately incorporated based on the customer's lists of comments and sketches. The end result: complete and reliable as-built drawings of the entire plant.

Revision management and project progress

In addition to implementing the revisions, revision management also played an important role. By carefully archiving all received files and working with revision letters in copies of the drawings, the source file always remained intact. This structured process made it possible to maintain an overview and ensure efficient collaboration, both for the engineer himself and for colleagues who carried out checks on site.

Approach and learning experience

Transparency and clarity were central to this project. Any ambiguities during the revision process were recorded and then checked on site at the factory. This ensured continuous feedback between the digital drawing and practice.

For the engineer involved, this project represented a steep learning curve. With no previous experience with AutoCAD, he quickly gained knowledge in modifying piping and media, recognizing structures in numbering, and applying the correct symbols for instrumentation. In addition, he gained valuable experience in interpreting and processing technical drawings of a production facility.
